In this episode of
Systm the get in to
Asterisk which is a open source voip (voice over ip). It is a Unix based application and runs on linux bsd. It is basically a tool kit that gives you the ability to connect different telephony systems together. Some of the different protocals are sip, h323, such as conference rooms, anouncements, and database integration, and alot more things you can do. It basically still uses you land line service but also converts you to voip. It tells you the things you will need for making asterisk work. Then they go in to a tutorial of it works. I personally thought that this episode of systm is kind of boring but to the people that want to do this it would benafit them alot.
